Connect Instagram, manage contacts and lists, reply in the unified inbox, and publish or schedule feed posts.
Bring Instagram Direct into SkyLight Chat — reply in the same inbox as your other channels, organize Instagram contacts, and publish feed posts from the dashboard.
Purpose
Instagram integration lets you:
- Connect an Instagram account (username, password, and 2FA when required)
- Message customers in the Unified Inbox with channel filter Instagram
- Organize Instagram contacts, lists, segments, and blacklist
- Publish text and media posts now or on a schedule
Instagram does not include broadcast campaigns in the dashboard (unlike WhatsApp campaigns).
Who can access

Requires a plan with Instagram access and the manage_instagram permission.

- Instagram account credentials (and 2FA method if enabled on the account)
- SkyLight Chat subscription with Instagram channel enabled
- Permission

Full walkthrough
Connect Instagram
- Open Instagram → Instagram Settings (or Channels → Instagram).
- Click Connect.
- Enter Instagram username and password.
- If prompted, enter the 2FA code from your authenticator app or SMS.
- Wait until status shows Connected / OK.
Overview and maintenance
- Open Instagram → Overview to see connection status and contact stats.
- Use Sync on Settings when data looks stale.
- If status shows Credentials (session expired), reconnect with username/password + 2FA.
- Disconnect removes the session from SkyLight Chat; your Instagram account stays active.
Contacts, lists, and segments
- Contacts — add, edit, import CSV, blacklist, or block/unblock.
- Contact lists — create lists and add members.
- Segments — create dynamic segments and toggle status.
Messaging
- Go to Inbox.
- Filter or open conversations with type Instagram.
- Reply manually or with an AI agent (same inbox tools as other channels).
Posts
- Go to Instagram → Posts.
- Click Create.
- Enter caption text and optional media.
- Choose Publish now or Schedule, then save.
- Cancel pending scheduled posts from the posts list when needed.

Troubleshooting
